CARAWAY ROLLS

To  make 16 rolls:
250g/8oz wholemeal flour
10g/ ¼ oz dried yeast
50g/2oz softened gutter
1 tsp salt
1 egg
1 tsp each sweet paprika and rose paprika
1 tsp dried thyme
125ml/4fl oz lukewarm milk
200g/7oz cooked ham without rind
100g/4oz Feta cheese
2 tsps caraway seeds
2 bunches chives
Butter for greasing

Rising time:
1 ½ hours

25 minutes

Mix the flour eith the yeast in a warm bowl,Cut the butter into knobs and add to the flour,Mix the milk with the salt,egg,paprika and thyme and pour into the flour,Knead well.
Cover the dough and leave for 50 minut to rise,Chop the ham and cut the cheese into cube,Add the caraway seed ,Rise the chives,shake dry and chop,Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured work top into a rectangle measuring 20cm/8inches x 16cm/6inches and to a thicness of about 1cm/ ½ inch.
Spread the cheese and ham sheet and sprinkle with the chopped chives,Roll up the pastry sheet and cut into 1cm/ ½ -inch slices,Place the rolls on a greased baking tray,cover and leave for a further 25 minutes,Heat the oven to 200/400/gas mark 6.
Bake for 25 minutes
